We wanted to break the ice for the ones who always wanted to, but never could.
Uplifting isn’t just a show. It’s an energy, a moment, and most importantly, a space for people to meet someone new without the pressure of labels or expectations. A space created for those who are genuinely open to finding a meaningful relationship and, perhaps, someone they can one day build a future with.
It all started with a thought. Most of us, at some point, have longed for that one person we can truly call our own. Someone to share everything with. Someone to talk to. Someone to grow old with.
But in the world we live in, especially in a city like Karachi, that kind of connection isn’t always easy to come by. Life keeps us busy. We move in the same circles and walk the same routines. For most, the only real avenues to meet someone are school, college, work, or maybe a random social gathering. And even then, it’s a matter of luck, timing, or confidence. Some get the chance to shoot their shot. Others never even get to try. Sometimes the fear is louder than the desire to connect.
That’s where Uplifting comes in.
We wanted to create a space that feels different. Something fun, honest, respectful, and real. A place where people can step a little out of their comfort zone, show up in their most vulnerable state, and have a genuine conversation with someone who is also looking for a meaningful connection. A chance to meet someone. To communicate. To break the ice. And maybe, just maybe, meet someone worth taking that next step with, beyond the stage.
No swipes. No pressure. No forced expectations. We’re not here to promise fairytales, instant chemistry, or happily ever after. We’re simply creating a setting where two people can meet with honesty, shared intentions, and the possibility of discovering something real. And if nothing else, maybe you leave with a good story, a new perspective, or a little more confidence than you came in with.
At its heart, Uplifting is about people. Real ones. With nerves, questions, hopes, and butterflies. Just like you.

How do you end up on stage during the show?
There are a few ways you can find yourself on stage. Our lead contestants are selected through our casting process, but the audience is also part of the experience. During the show, audience members may have the opportunity to come up on stage, answer questions, or interact with the contestants.
In some moments, a lead contestant may also express interest in meeting someone from the audience. If that person is interested too, they may be invited on stage.
If I'm unsure about getting casted, what should I do?
Just apply. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you do.
We look for people who are genuine, open to meeting someone, and willing to have a real conversation. Our team reviews every application, and if we feel you could be a good fit for an upcoming show, we’ll reach out to you.
If you do not want to participate on the show, is that okay?
Yes. There is absolutely no pressure to participate.
You can attend Uplifting simply as an audience member, enjoy the show, and be part of the experience. If you’re ever invited to participate or come on stage, you can always choose whether or not you’d like to.
How long is UpLifting's live show?
The shows are roughly 90 minutes followed by our after hours parties at a venue nearby the show…
What kind of people apply or attend Uplifting?
All kinds of people.
Uplifting is for adults who are genuinely open to meeting someone new and exploring the possibility of a meaningful connection. Some may be looking for a potential partner, some may be open to finding someone for rishta or marriage, and others may simply want to meet someone organically and see where a conversation leads.
There is no one “type” of person who belongs here. Just come as yourself.
Is it safe to go alone?
Yes. Uplifting is designed to be a welcoming and respectful environment, whether you come with friends or on your own.
You can attend as an audience member, enjoy the show, and participate only if and when you’re comfortable. Our team is there throughout the experience to help maintain a respectful environment for everyone.
If I connect with someone on stage, am I expected to pursue things with them afterward?
No. Nothing is expected of you.
If two people express mutual interest, they may choose to exchange contact information and continue getting to know each other after the show. What happens next is entirely up to them.
Uplifting simply creates the opportunity to meet. The rest is for the two people to decide.
Will Uplifting be recorded or shared online?
The show is filmed for broadcast and streaming purposes, with the appropriate consent of those participating.
Any use of a participant’s appearance, story, or interaction will be subject to the permissions and agreements provided during the casting and participation process.
So, what exactly is Uplifting?
Uplifting is a live matchmaking and connection experience built around real conversations between real people.
It’s not a traditional dating show, and it’s not a comedy show. There will be laughter, banter, awkward moments, unexpected questions, and plenty of audience interaction, but at its heart, Uplifting is about giving people a genuine opportunity to meet someone who could potentially become a meaningful part of their lives.
Whether that leads to a potential partner, a rishta, a friendship, or simply a memorable conversation, there’s no script for what happens next.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely.
You can come with your friends, siblings, or anyone you’d feel comfortable sharing the experience with. And if you decide to come on your own, that’s okay too.
Is Uplifting only about finding a romantic partner?
The heart of Uplifting is creating an opportunity to meet someone who could potentially become a partner, whether that’s through a relationship, rishta, or eventually marriage.
But we don’t believe every meaningful interaction has to follow the same path. Sometimes two people simply have a great conversation. Sometimes a connection takes time to develop.
We create the opportunity. What happens after that is up to the people involved.
How are the lead contestants selected?
Our casting team reviews applications and gets to know potential participants before selecting them for an upcoming show.
We look for people who are genuine, open to meaningful connection, and willing to have an honest conversation in front of a live audience.
We don’t believe in reducing people to a compatibility score. We look for potential, personality, openness, and the possibility that two people might have an interesting conversation.
Do I have to be looking for marriage to participate?
Not necessarily.
You should be open to the possibility of meeting someone who could eventually become a serious partner, but you don’t need to come with a fixed timeline or expectation.
Whether your journey eventually leads to a relationship, rishta, marriage, or simply helps you discover what you’re looking for, there is no predetermined outcome.
What happens if I find someone interesting in the audience?
That’s part of the fun.
If you’re a lead contestant on stage and someone in the audience catches your interest, you can let the hosts know. If the other person is also comfortable and interested, they may have the opportunity to come up on stage and join the conversation.
No pressure. No obligation. Just an opportunity to meet.
What happens if two people decide they like each other?
If two people mutually express interest, they can choose to exchange contact information and continue getting to know each other outside the show.
From there, the journey is theirs. They may choose to meet again, involve their families, or explore where the connection could lead.
Uplifting’s role is to create the opportunity. What happens beyond that is up to them.
